Patinated bronze, alabaster.
Albert Cheuret’s work is distinct not only for his masterly execution in bronze and alabaster, but for his elegant depiction of the natural subjects that so inspired him—wild animals, in particular birds, and flora—in the clean, industrial lines of the Art Deco. With this striking chandelier in bronze, he employs an elaborate, double-decker alabaster shade to imitate, from below, light emanating from a celestial body.
