In the creation of this sculpture, which pits order against chaos, Japanese virtuoso Kouzo Takeuchi assembled dozens of similarly sized rectangular pieces of clay into a meticulously parallel arrangement before firing, and at last chipping, them into their finished shapes and ultimate composition.
