For the first ever Oui Design!, a new part of the 11th annual NYCxDESIGN, Maison Gerard will host Franck Evennou. Meet the contemporary French artist and discover his work, his technique, and his aesthetics with a tour of the gallery at
43 & 53 East 10th Street,
Saturday, May 20th,
2:30-4pm.
The work of other vintage and contemporary French designers, such as Marc Bankowsky, Jules Leleu, Miguel Cisterna, Hervé Van der Straeten, and Line Vautrin (to name but a few), will be displayed throughout our two spaces, from 10-6pm on Saturday the 20th.
Oui Design! is a curated path of open studios, workshops, designer talks and exclusive events with some of New York City’s most exceptional French design spaces and makers, spanning from May 17th to 23rd.
The American and French design scenes have a rich history of collaboration and ideas-sharing, sparking innovative explorations and initiatives on both sides of the Atlantic. Featuring work by dozens of exceptional French makers in galleries from Chelsea to Greenpoint and Long Island City to Industry City, Oui Design! illustrates this unique international relationship in real time. Oui Design! is an initiative of Villa Albertine, a cultural institution that links France and the United States in a shared exploration of arts and ideas.
