This newest set of tables takes its name from the rocky, flat-topped hills and mountains of the American soutwest and beyond. With the Mesas, Fanning expands the language of his Outcrop series. Consequently, this line lives somewhere in between the interlocking puzzle-like surfaces of the Outcrop adn the free0form organic shapes of his recognizable Nesting pieces.
Drawing from his knowledge of art and design (in addition to his architectural expertise), Douglas Fanning continually pushes the boundaries between form and physics to create clean, fluid, yet uncompromisingly daring pieces. In short, his multi-disciplined work harnesses a seamless creative dialogue between intellectual exploration and the organic realization of ideas.
