Description

Oak frame with upholstered seat

18 in wide x 19 in deep x 31.75 in high

This set of six oak dining chairs, which date from before the war in Europe, are a marvel of composition. Boasting backs that swell gently at their centers, wide parabolic seats, and legs that subtly bend away front from back, they are characteristic of Jules Leleu's output from this period — elegant, but reserved, and with the utmost attention to detail — no less of use than of aesthetic.
