Louis Cane's omnivorous, trailblazing spirit has lead him from sculpture, to painting, and, at last, design. And while, over the last 25 years, the creation of furniture has become the central part of Cane's artistic practice, his work, whether in painting, sculpture, or design, can be seen as an attempt to further diminish the already blurred lines between the three disciplines.
This particular piece, a large detailed sculpture of a fenced-in olive tree dates from c. 2000, and is executed in patinated bronze.
