This patinated steel piece by Marino di Teana is a scaled down version of one of the largest steel sculptures in Europe, located at the Place Charles de Gaulle, Fontenay-sous-bois, France. Like most of di Teana’s work it emphasizes negative space as the most prominent formal element in sculpture.

Edition number 6 of 8.

The following variations of the Liberté type were exhibited publicly:

1989-91: “Liberté”, Place Charles de Gaulle, Fontenay-sous-bois, France. Corten steel, H: 69'  W: 30'  D: 28'.

1993: “Hommage à Marcel Joray (Liberté)” Ville de Neuchâtel, Switzerland. Corten steel, H: 84.75".
